What Are Shower Steamers?
Shower Steamers are aromatherapy tablets (around 3 oz. in weight, 5 inches in height) that are placed at the bottom of your shower to release a therapeutic scent when it comes in contact with water. Simply put, they are used to create a spa-like experience and can help promote relaxation and relieve stress.
How Do You Use a Shower Steamer?
Here are the simple step-by-step instructions explaining how to use your shower steamer.
- Simply place your shower steamer on your shower steamer dish, soap dish or back of the shower floor.
- Activate your steamer by getting it wet until it fizzes
- Make sure your shower steamer isn't anywhere outside of the direct stream of water

Can You Use a Shower Steamer as a Bath Bomb?
No, you cannot use a shower steamer as a bath bomb.
The reason why it's best to avoid treating a shower steamer like a bath bomb is simple: its intended purpose is for the shower. Shower steamers are made to steam upon water lightly touching it. If you were to put a shower steamer in a bath, it would not activate and bubble up like a bath bomb would.
Additionally, shower steamers contain menthol crystals which allow it to steam to arise. If put in a bath, the crystals could cause irritation on sensitive skin.
All in all, do not use a shower steamer as a bath bomb. Keep it in the shower as it was intended to be used.
What's the Difference Between Shower Steamers and Bath Bombs?
Bath bombs are designed to dissolve in bathwater, releasing essential oils and ingredients that create a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. Shower steamers, on the other hand, are placed on the shower floor and dissolve when in contact with water, releasing similar scents but with less moisturizing effects. It ultimately depends on personal preference, and if you're more of a bath person or if you enjoy showers.
What's Better: Shower Steamers or Bath Bombs?
Both! It really depends on your preference. Some people prefer baths, in that case bath bombs and water truffles are a great way to heighten your bath experience.
However, if you prefer showers, or are required to take showers only, then shower steamers are a wonderful choice to give you a shower session that's more like a relaxing spa.
What Are the Benefits of Using Shower Steamers?
